This is the second time I got a pair of Irish Setters. They are the only two pairs of shoes I have ever got that were truly waterproof up to the too of the tongue. I am a mariner, and I have purchased a few pairs of Red Wings, and various other shoes, and none of them have been waterproof over the soles. Irish Setter gets it right. Comfortable and dry, that is how I like my feet, and that is what these shoes do for me!
Comfortable right out of the box.
Before I made my purchase, I read some reviews. 50% stated the fit wasn't correct. I went to the local Red Wing store and tried on a pair. Size 12 was correct, however, I had to get a EE. These boots do not seem to run big. But if you use regular socks, then they would definitely be larger. I also purchased from the RedWing store a set of Orthotic insoles. These I need but not everyone does. Customer service at RedWing is excellent. The boot looks great and feels just as good. Yesterday was a big test as I had been working non-stop for 9 hours on a hard floor surface (not much different than concrete). My feet hurt like heck (but that's me ). after an hour break, I was surprised to feel much better and I was good for another couple hours. In summary; the boots are comfortable and light. I would definitely recommend. As far as the durability, I feel confident that they will last a long time.
O.K..... for all you guys out there that is in food service delivery.... this is by far the most durable boot I have ever purchased. I already had a pair I bought somewhere else, but came here for my second pair. I have had my present boots for over a year and they are still in great shape. I have never had a pair of boots that lasted over a year on this job without coming apart. I run up and down spiked ramps all day and walk at least two and three miles, and sometimes more, everyday on pavement, concrete, mud and dirt and greasy floors. Most boots like these, (glued soles) would have come apart long before now... every pair I have had always have, but not these, they show no signs of turning loose. They are WATERPROOF as they say, and that is very important when you have to deliver in the flooding rain all day... and they are warm and comfortable. The only negative I can say about them is that they are not as slip resistant on greasy floors as other boots I have had... yet not so bad that it would keep me from buying them. I hope they don't discontinue them because they are a fantastic pair of boots for the price!
Good and comfortable. The shoes is well fit on my feet only if insoles are removed. It will be better if it also has extra wide size.
This is my second pair. Very comfortable. Tough. Long lasting and tough.
lasted over a year on a factory floor and very comfortable until the end!I just bought another pair hopefully they will last just as long, most boots or steel toe tennis shoes tend to blow out the side after about 6 months for me.
Got these for my boyfriend for Christmas, he loves them. Sturdy and comfortable!
Bought not even 6 months ago and they are already coming apart.
I bought numerous pairs of work boots before settling on these. Other boots either fit too narrow, were too heavy, were ugly, or whatever else. These boots fit the criteria of being a great looking work boot, being not too heavy, and of performing adequately.Don't get me wrong, these are steel toed boots. You'll know it as soon as you put them on. I went to my doctor for a physical while wearing these. The nurse thought I was crazy for wanting to remove these prior to stepping on the scale. After weighing myself, I put these boots on the scale. It registered over 4 pounds. They are a very dark brown and look very nice when polished. I have owned my boots for approximately 6 months now, and they still look brand new, other than minor scuff marks. The sole has held up very well. The leather has only very minor wrinkles.I have not dropped anything on my toe, but I have had guys step on the toe. They support a grown man's weight with ease.
