These are great, strong laces. Importantly, they stay tied which is a regular peeve of mine with many laces which are “slippery” and don’t. Slippery laces that require regular retieing seem like a bad idea in the first place.
The laces are great, and the right length for my boots 6 eyelets boots. They definitely give the boots a tougher look (in a good way). However, I wouldn't recommend these specific laces for boots that are more "fancy/formal". it just wouldn't match. I would recommend their other laces (the non waxed ones). They do look great on black boots tho.In terms of durability, we will see, but based on their build, I can see them lasting as long as the boots I have.
Honestly hands down these are the best laces for work, i work hard and very physical, and walk alot alot at work, these lacese here does not untie for anything. And i tie my laces tight tight, they dont break.
I bought these for temperature resistance when managing burn piles and burning weeds. Kevlar is far preferable to nylon for that reason. Yet I wear these boots nearly every day for all sorts of tasks. The laces get a lot of wear but that isn't the issue. The way the laces are designed, they eventually damage the boots. They insert, tie, and hold a bow-knot well. The problem is that the diameter of the lace diameter is small enough that it weards a notch into brass eyelets. Yes, I do rotate the eyelets when they show excessive wear, but eventually they do wear out. When these did wear the eyelets, they cut right through the laces. Effectively, the laces lasted a year because they wore through the eyelets and the brass edge cut the laces.Replacing a set of eyelets on a pair of Wesco boots is NOT cheap. I would rather pay a bit more for a lace that fits the eyelets, distributing the stress and abrasion over a larger surface. Yet getting the gauge right is tricky, as the boot manufacturers go to smaller hooks. So this will remain a matter of difficult compromises until the boot manufacturers do a better job of integrating the laces into their selection of materials.
Durable for outside work buy a pair for all my work boots / hiking boots
Buying another pair for other set
I replaced the strings that came on my boots with these. They stay tight and are durable. My go to laces for when I need tough performance.
Boot shoe laces are not as thick as the ones we are replacing. We like the fact that they are waxed and they look good. Speedy delivery too.
Last year I bought a pair of Thorogood 7" Lightweight Tactical Boots in which the strings were too short to double tie which meant they had to be re-tied too often for me. Also, I could not use the top eyelets due to the shortness of the strings. The boots are very comfortable to wear so I needed a way of being able to keep them tied in order to get the full benefit from them. The 81" Benchmark Waxed 100% Kevlar Boot Laces took care of this problem and left me with 4" on each lace end to double tie the boots for better security. I used an ice pick to enlarge the boot eyelets to accept the Benchmark laces and easily re-laced my boots using all 9 pairs of eyelets.
Purchased for a foot support brace due to a broken foot. The medical brace came with flat laces that were not easy to sinch up and properly tighten. The waxed round laces are easier to lace up and tie, do not become tangled. And are easy to loosen.
